Reecie Gilmore

Founder / Vice Chairman

Reecie was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 2008, Reecie’s family suffered the loss of her two year old son, Clint, to an accidental drowning. It was then that her life changed and she began soul searching for something to do that would give her life meaning and allow her to share Clint’s legacy with others. Clint was a donor so Reecie became involved with LOPA (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency.) It was through her involvement with LOPA that she discovered a need for helping bereaved families, facilitating support groups, and spreading awareness. Reecie has twelve years experience in dealing with bereaved families and found her hearts passion. She worked for Maddie’s Footprints from 2015 - 2021 as their Program Director. In 2021, she and her husband, Justin, founded a nonprofit organization called, The RescYOU Group, assists 10 parishes in Acadiana. This organization provides financial aid for end of life expenses and offers a place of hope and healing (through free grief counseling) for families that suffer the loss of a child from age 1 – 17 (or are currently enrolled in high school.) Reecie is married to Justin Gilmore and together they have five amazing daughters and one precious granddaughter, and a golden doodle named, Jax.
